The Governors, Executive Headteacher of Exe Valley Federation and Head of Whimple Primary School wish to recruit staff to the following post to commence as soon as possible.
Whimple Primary School is seeking to appoint a new member of staff to carry out the role of a 1 to 1/General Teaching Assistant. This is a part-time role working 16 hours per week, term time only. There may be some flexibility around the days and hours worked. The role would include Mealtime Assistant duties and would mainly involve working in Key Stage 2 initially but could be across all primary ages.

One aspect of the role initially, will be supporting a child with additional needs - supporting with communication and interaction including social skills.
You will provide in-class support under the direction of the class teacher. We are looking for an individual with a sensitive, inspiring and nurturing approach to the needs and educational development of the children, who can be flexible, communicate effectively and think creatively.
Ideally, you will:
- Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents;
- Have strong English and Maths skills; (minimum GCSE qualification)
- Be able to maintain consistent boundaries, while being flexible and resilient in supporting the pupil.
- Be willing to work as part of team and liaise with other professionals within school
- Be able to use you own initiative when required
